Five Harmonies Qigong
Rooted in the Wisdom of the Five Elements
Five Harmonies Qigong is a seven-movement form rooted in the Five Elements and the interplay of Yin and Yang. The practice brings these principles into movement, giving you a direct way to experience the qualities and relationships of the elements through your body.
The seven movements move between stillness and flow, combining static and dynamic elements to create a practice that can be adapted to your needs. Each movement has its own quality and relationship to the Five Elements, while practising the sequence as a whole allows those relationships to become more familiar.
The form can be practised as a simple 10+ minute daily routine, while offering plenty to return to as your understanding develops.
What this develops
An introduction to working with the Five Elements through Qigong
An understanding of the relationships between the Five Elements within a Qigong practice
A practical understanding of how Yin and Yang inform the form
The ability to move between stillness and flow within a complete Qigong sequence
A foundation for deeper study of the individual Five Elements
Finding Harmony Through Movement
The Five Elements give us a way of understanding relationship, movement and transformation. In Five Harmonies Qigong, these principles come together through a simple seven-movement sequence.
The practice moves between Yin and Yang, stillness and movement, expansion and contraction. As you move through the form, you begin to notice how these different qualities relate to one another.
With repetition, the sequence becomes more familiar. You begin to recognise the relationship between the movements and how different qualities can exist together within a single practice.
Five Harmonies is an introduction to Five Element Qigong, giving you a practical way to begin exploring the framework through movement before moving into the deeper study of the individual elements.
