Teach Shen Gong: share the art of emotional awareness, inner alignment, and heart-based cultivation
The Shen Gong Teacher Training is a 9-month pathway that empowers you to guide others in practices of movement, breath, stillness and self-inquiry — supporting students to heal, grow, and reconnect with what is real inside.
Through a structured training process, you’ll explore multiple modules of Shen Gong practice and philosophy, supported by 1:1 mentorship. This integrated approach ensures not only your own inner development, but also the confidence and clarity to teach authentically.
You’ll learn how to:
Facilitate key Shen Gong practices, including Qigong movement, energetic cultivation and Daoist meditation.
Weave together theory, philosophy, and frameworks for teaching.
Hold space for students’ emotional awareness, energetic regulation, and spiritual cultivation.
Integrate these teachings with your existing work as a teacher, therapist, or practitioner.
Graduates gain international Shen Gong Teacher accreditation and join a growing community of teachers bringing this transformative path to others.
What is Shen Gong?
Shen Gong is a lesser-known stream of Daoist tradition. It is the skill of the Self — essentially knowing and developing who you are.
Shen Gong is the bridge between Qigong and Neigong — in essence its the way, or Dao of the heart.
The practices of Shen Gong combine Qigong form and movements with breathwork, meditation and reflective, contemplative study.
Together, this creates a deeply connective mind-body practice, which can evolve consciousness and transform your life and the lives of your students.
Shen Gong practices help us to balance our emotions, mind and spirit, and the flow of those energies within.
Why add Shen Gong to your teaching toolkit:
Learn how to hold students in both time and space as they step into the deeper work of self-development, safely supported by you as their teacher.
Understand when to bring in Qigong forms and physical movement to help shift and somatically express energy - because it’s not enough to only be in the intellect when doing transformational personal work.
Gain skills to help people live in harmony with their emotions, foster true inner peace and access authentic expression.
The ideal extra healing modality for wellness-based practitioners, such as yoga & Pilates teachers, acupuncturists and nutritionists.
Shen Gong Teacher Training Program Structure:
At the heart of this program is the Dao Mentorship — a 9-month, online 1:1 process that offers the personal guidance, accountability, and deep integration essential for stepping into the role of a Shen Gong teacher.
Alongside the mentorship, you can choose how you’d like to complete your study modules:
In-person pathway – join a series of weekend workshops and immersions.
Fully online pathway – move through the modules at your own pace, from wherever you are.
Blended pathway – weave together in-person and online study in a way that fits your lifestyle.
Every training pathway includes:
The Dao Mentorship (the core of your training and certification).
Online self-study resources and consistent personal practice.
Assessment tasks that help you demonstrate your readiness to teach, including video submissions.
Either the Qigong Foundations Teacher Training (60 hours), or Modules 1 & 2, which can be completed as part of your Dao Mentorship.
What You’ll Study:
Modules 14, 15, 16, 26, and 27 — each opening into different aspects of Shen Gong practice, philosophy, and the skills needed to guide others (see below for details).

Frequently asked questions
What is Shen Gong, and how is it different from other forms of Qigong?
Shen Gong is a path of working directly with the Heart and Spirit. While many forms of Qigong focus on physical health, energy flow, or longevity, Shen Gong goes deeper into emotional awareness, inner alignment, and spiritual cultivation. It’s about meeting life as it is, not bypassing it — and learning to hold steady, clear, and compassionate in the midst of what arises.
Do I need to have teaching experience to join the training?
No. You don’t need to have taught before. What matters most is your commitment to your own practice and showing up consistently and honestly. The one requirement is that you’ve completed the Qigong Foundations Teacher Training (60 hours) — this ensures everyone comes in with the foundational skills needed to move into the Shen Gong pathway. If you are already a teacher, therapist, or practitioner, you’ll find these teachings integrate beautifully into your existing work.
Why is the Dao Mentorship required for certification?
Because teaching Shen Gong is not about memorising techniques — it’s about embodying them. The Dao Mentorship gives you the time, guidance, and accountability to integrate the practices into your own life. Without that, it would be surface-level. With it, you gain the confidence and authenticity to hold space for others.
What is the time commitment each week?
This will vary depending on your pace and format, but a good guide is around 2-4 hours a week. That includes your personal practice, study time, and mentorship sessions. What’s important is regular, consistent practice and study.
Can I complete the training fully online if I don’t live nearby?
Yes. The entire program can be completed online, and many students choose this pathway. If you’d like to deepen your learning with in-person workshops or immersions, you’re welcome to add them in — but they’re not required for certification.
What if I can’t attend the in-person workshops?
That’s fine. Everything you need for certification is available online. The in-person immersions are there as an additional way to connect, refine, and experience the group field, but they’re not mandatory.
How are assessments done?
You’ll submit video demonstrations and written reflections through a Qi Journal. Assessments aren’t about perfection — they’re about showing your understanding, your readiness to teach, and your ability to embody what you’ve learned.
What accreditation will I receive at the end of this program?
You’ll gain international accreditation as a Shen Gong Teacher, which allows you to share these practices with students, clients, or in your community with confidence and credibility.
Can I take this training just for personal development, without teaching?
Yes. Although this program is designed for teacher certification, if your focus is purely personal growth, you’d be better suited to the Dao of the Heart self-study online program and/or a Dao Mentorship, where the emphasis is on deepening your own practice and inner cultivation.
